Editorial Policy

Sourcing

• Sources are named. Every recipe we analyse is attributed to its publisher and author, with a link to the original. We don't republish other sites' recipes; we analyse and point to them.
• Links go to the originals. If we discuss a recipe, you can click through to it. Ratings and review figures we cite come from those source pages.
• Food-safety claims are validated. Temperatures, times, and storage guidance are checked against authoritative references such as USDA and FSIS (e.g. the FSIS safe minimum internal temperature chart). Where a source recipe conflicts with those references, we follow the reference and say so.
• Images appear only with permission. See our image permissions policy.

Corrections

We want to be told when we're wrong, and we fix it when we are.

• To report an error: email [email protected] with the page URL and what's wrong. Anything qualifies — a wrong temperature, a stale rating, a broken source link, a claim you think we can't back up.
• What happens next: a human reviews the report. If the page is wrong, we correct it and update the page's dateModified so the change is visible. Food-safety errors are treated as urgent.

AI assistance

We're transparent about how these pages are made: the data analysis and the drafting of our comparison pages are software-assisted, including the use of AI tools. A human reviews and approves every page before it is published. Nothing goes live on autopilot, and responsibility for what's published rests with the human reviewer — see our author page.

Vendor disclosure

Prep and Chef is made by the team building the Prep and Chef app. Any page on this site that compares or discusses recipe apps discloses that conflict of interest on the page itself: we make one of the products in the category, and you should weigh our app-related opinions accordingly. Our recipe analysis pages compare recipes, not apps, and are not affected by this — but the disclosure principle applies wherever it could matter.

What we won't publish

• Invented testimonials, ratings, user counts, or "we tested" claims for testing that didn't happen.
• Food-safety advice that can't be traced to an authoritative reference.
• Other people's recipes or photos presented as ours.
